Is Plastic Surgery A Good Thing or a Selfish and Wasteful Thing?
Plastic surgery can be a wonderful thing, but it can be a very dangerous and addicting thing as well. Doctors use plastic surgery to fix serious medical problems such as cleft lips and injuries. There are some people in our world that strive for perfection with some limited help from plastic surgery. That perfection can be an alright thing, but when people take it too far, plastic surgery becomes addicting. So should there be stricter rules about the uses of plastic surgery?
All around the world, there are doctors volunteering their time to help people who were born with serious deformities. Many organized volunteer groups strive to do this life-changing work. Adam, my cousin, is currently in school to become a plastic surgeon. When I asked him why he would want to go into this high profile field of work, he replied, “I want to make a career out of helping people who really need help. I don’t want to help all of the spoiled rich kids from L.A.” Plastic surgery, for some people, is a gift.
Wanting to be attractive isn’t a crime. If you are aware that there is no way you can look like Sienna Miller, Jessica Simpson, Scarlett Johannsen, and Eva Longoria, it is safe to use them as inspiration to get into shape. Some people are just born with an extra spot of fat on their bodies that they can’t get off, no matter how hard they work. In that case, a little help from a doctor is just fine in my opinion. If it is just a one time thing and it isn’t for something fake to be placed in your body, it should be alright.
“I think people who are addicted to plastic surgery are vain, selfish, fake people who need to realize that you can’t stop the aging process,” my mother says. I can’t help but agree with her about this. There are certain people so desperate to stay young and beautiful that they forget the fact that aging is a natural process. You can always tell when somebody has had way too much plastic surgery. Their eyebrows just seem to point down, their lips are misshapen, and their features are a great deal larger than necessary in some places and way too small in others! When plastic surgery is abused or misused, some of the people aren’t as lucky as others. Some just look like weird plastic aliens, others can lose their families and friends while they are stuck in their quest for perfection.
Nobody is perfect. We can’t all be beautiful and thin. Plastic surgery is a useful thing that can help a lot of deserving people. It can be used to help people who are in medical trouble. When used correctly and very limitedly, it can help boost someone’s confidence. But when that goes too far, it is dangerous and wasteful. It is stupid and useless to put fake things in a woman’s chest just so she can fell more beautiful. Everyone is just as beautiful before plastic surgery as they are after.
